بَياضُwhiteness خَدَّيْكَyour two cheeks مَوْصُولٌjoined بِصُدْغَيْنِto two sidelocks
صُدْغٍa sidelock مِنَof اللَّيْلِthe night مُسْوَدِّblackened الجَناحَيْنِthe two wings
The whiteness of your cheeks is joined to two sidelocks;
The whiteness of your cheeks connects with two temples
A sidelock of night, black in both wings.
Of night with blackened wings
سَلَلْتَyou drew سَيْفاًa sword قَتَلْتَyou slew العالَمِينَthe worlds بِهِwith it
فَكَيْفَso how لَوْif جَرَّدَتْunsheathed عَيْناكَyour two eyes سَيْفَيْنِtwo swords
You drew a sword and slew the worlds with it;
You unsheathed a sword with which you killed all people
What, then, if your eyes unsheathed two swords?
So what if your eyes unsheathed two swords
