ياO ساكِتاًsilent one عَنin response to كلاميmy words لاnot يكلمُنيhe speaks to me
يا ساكِتاً عَن كلامي لا يكلمُني
تِيهاًout of pride أَلاindeed كلُّevery فعلٍdeed منكَfrom you مَبْرُورُpraiseworthy
تِيهاً أَلا كلُّ فعلٍ منكَ مَبْرُورُ
O you who remain silent at my words and do not speak to me,
O you who are silent to my words, you do not speak to me
out of pride—indeed, every deed of yours is praiseworthy.
Wandering, truly every deed from you is excused
إِذاwhen سَكَتَّyou are silent فمنكَthen from you الدُّرُّthe pearls مُنْتَظِمٌstrung together
إِذا سَكَتَّ فمنكَ الدُّرُّ مُنْتَظِمٌ
وإِنْand if نَطَقْتَyou speak فمنكَthen from you الدُّرُّthe pearls مَنْثورُscattered
وإِنْ نَطَقْتَ فمنكَ الدُّرُّ مَنْثورُ
When you are silent, your pearls are strung together;
If you are silent, then from you arranged pearls
and if you speak, your pearls are scattered.
And if you speak, then from you scattered pearls
