O you who are water in the shaping of your form,

And you who are wine in the workings of your eye,

And you for whom I cast off my bridle in my passion,

And you for love of whom my veil was torn,

And you who, with the blueness of your glance’s sword, shed my blood without redress—

And the sword’s pride lies only in its blueness.

You taught the pupil of my eye to swim, and now

It swims skillfully in the water of its tear.
