لِشَادِنٍfor a young gazelle فَاتِرِlanguid الأَلْحاظِthe glances والمُقَلِand the eyes
لِشَادِنٍ فَاتِرِ الأَلْحاظِ والمُقَلِ
My soul and all the wealth I possess are a ransom
My soul I sacrifice, and whatever passion I harbor
for a young gazelle with languid glances and eyes.
For Shadin, languid of glance and eyelid,
قَدْindeed صِرْتُI have become فيهِfor his sake أَمِيرَprince العاشِقِينَthe lovers وَقَدْand indeed
قَدْ صِرْتُ فيهِ أَمِيرَ العاشِقِينَ وَقَدْ
أَضْحَتْhas become وِلايَةُgovernance أَهْلِthe people of العِشْقِpassionate love مِنْfrom قِبَليmy side
أَضْحَتْ وِلايَةُ أَهْلِ العِشْقِ مِنْ قِبَلي
For his sake I have become the prince of lovers, and now
I have become, because of him, prince of lovers, and
authority over the people of love rests with me.
The governance of lovers has proceeded from me.
