His charms transcend all comparison.
His beauty transcends all comparison,
And he is beyond any counterpart who could match him in beauty.
And is beyond any likeness in charm.

سُبْحانَglory to خَالِقِهِhis Creator سُبْحَانَglory to بَاريهِhis Maker
Look at his face, and have no need of my description.
Behold his face and do without describing,
Glory to his Creator, glory to his Maker!
Glory to his Maker, glory to his Creator.
النَّرْجِسُthe narcissus الغَضُّfresh مِنْfrom أَجْفَانِthe eyelids مُقْلَتِهِhis eye
وَالوَرْدُand the rose مِنْfrom خَدِّهِhis cheek وَالدُّرُّand the pearls مِنْfrom فِيهِhis mouth
The fresh narcissus comes from the lids of his eye,
The narcissus bent over from his eyelids,
And the rose from his cheek, and pearls from his mouth.
And the rose from his cheek, the pearls from his mouth.
دَعَاhe called بِأَلْحَاظِهِwith his glances قَلْبيmy heart إِلىto تَلَفِيmy destruction
فَجَاءهُso it came to him مُسْرِعاًswiftly طَوْعاًwillingly يُلَبِّيهِanswering his call
With his glances he called my heart to my destruction,
With a glance of his eyes he summoned my heart,
So it came to him swiftly, willingly answering his call.
It came rushing willingly to obey.
مِثْلَlike الفَراشَةِthe moth تَأْتِيcomes إِنْif رأَتْit sees لَهَباًa flame
إِلىto السِّراجِthe lamp فَتُلْقِيthen it casts نَفْسَهاitself فِيهِinto it
Like a moth that comes, if it sees a flame,
Like a moth when it sees a flame,
To the lamp, then casts itself into it.
Flies to the lamp and throws itself in.
