لِي هَوىً فِيكَ مَصُونُ

لِي هَوىً فِيكَ مَصُونُ

لَيْسَ لِي فيهِ مُعِينُ

لَيْسَ لِي فيهِ مُعِينُ

My love for you is safely guarded;

I have no helper in it.

يَا حَبِيباً خَانَ عَهْدي

يَا حَبِيباً خَانَ عَهْدي

أَنا مِمَّنْ لا يَخُونُ

أَنا مِمَّنْ لا يَخُونُ

O beloved who broke faith with me,

I am one of those who do not betray.

عُدْ إِلى تَجْدِيدِ وَصْلِي

عُدْ إِلى تَجْدِيدِ وَصْلِي

قَالَ خُذْ فِيما يَكُونُ

قَالَ خُذْ فِيما يَكُونُ

Return and renew your union with me.

He said, “Consider what is possible:

وَصْلِيَ اليَوْمَ ظُنُونٌ

وَصْلِيَ اليَوْمَ ظُنُونٌ

لَكَ وَالهَجْرُ يَقِينُ

لَكَ وَالهَجْرُ يَقِينُ

Union with me today is conjecture

For you, but estrangement is certain.”
