وَهَاجَand stirred لِيwithin me الشَّوْقُlonging أَسىًsorrow كَامِناًhidden
فَلَمْso did not أَزَلْI cease أَبْكيI weep عَلَىat كُلِّevery مِيلْmile
And longing stirred a hidden sorrow within me.
Longing stirred hidden sorrow in me,
So I kept weeping at every mile.
So I wept at every halt.
فَكِدْتُso I nearly أَنْto أَغْرَقَI drown فيin دَمْعَتيmy tear
وَأَجْعَلَand I lay الذَّنْبَthe blame لِيَوْمِon the day of الرَّحِيلْdeparture
So I came close to drowning in my tear
I almost drowned in my tears
and laying the blame on the day of departure.
And blamed the day we parted.
