And a daughter of the vine, as though she were a flame,
A girl like flaming fire
From her the palms almost catch fire.
Her palms nearly catch aflame

كأَنَّماas though يستفزُّهاstirs her طَرَبُrapture
She plays in her cup when mixed,
She plays in her cup when mixed
As though rapture stirs her.
As if provoking her is a delight

In the cup’s expanse, when you mix her,
In the wide bowl as she mixes it
Is a sky of raw gold whose stars are gold.
A sky of pure gold its stars
