ياO مَنْyou who تَجَنَّبَshunned دَمْعيmy tears مِنْهُbecause of him حِينَwhen وَشَىtold tales
سُلْطانُthe sovereign of حُبِّكَlove for you لمْdid not يَقْبَلْaccept عَلَيَّagainst me رُشاbribes
O you who shunned the tears I shed for you when they told tales,
O you who avoided my tear when it scattered,
The sovereign of love for you accepted no bribes against me.
Your love's authority did not turn to me gently.
وكَمْand how often شَكانيcomplained of me اشْتِكائيmy lament منof هوىlove for قَمَرٍa moon
مُحَكَّمٍgiven authority فيover قُلوبِthe hearts of الخَلْقِpeople كَيفَhowever يَشاhe wishes
And how often my lament has complained of me for love of a moon,
And how much did my complaining of love for a moon
Empowered to rule people's hearts however he wishes.
Firmly enthroned in people's hearts however he wishes, complain.
ياO خَاضِباًone who dyes مِنْwith دَمِيmy blood أَسْيافَthe swords of ناظِرِهِhis gaze
وَمَنْand whom عَبَدْتُI worshipped غَرامِيmy passion فِيهfor him حينَwhen نَشاarose
O you who dye the swords of your gaze with my blood,
O you who unsheathed from my blood the swords of his looks,
And you whom I worshipped out of my passion for you when it arose,
And whom I worshipped, my passion for him when it awoke.
هذاthis is فُؤاديَmy heart طَوْعاًwillingly لَوْif هَمَمْتَyou set your mind بِهِon it

Here is my heart, willingly offered, should you desire it;
It would walk to you if you made it walk, it would walk.
It walks toward you; if you bade it walk, it would indeed walk.
And here is my love, the wounds of its limbs,

And here is my soul, its limbs wounded;
Its saliva increases its thirst for its roses.
Drinking its fill from its watering place only increases its thirst.
