بَدِيعٌa wondrous beauty ذَابَmelted مِنْfrom نَظَرِيmy gaze إِلَيْهِtoward him
وَذُبْتُand I melted صَبَابَةًwith longing أَبَداًforever عَلَيْهِfor him
A wondrous beauty melted under my gaze upon him.
He left my sight, that slender one
And I melted with longing for him forever.
And I pine constantly for him
فَلَوْلاso were it not for دِقَّةٌslenderness فيin الخَصْرِthe waist مِنْهُof him
لَكَانَwould have been الجَوُّthe air يَجْذِبُهُdrawing him إِلَيْهِtoward itself
Were it not for the slenderness of his waist,
If his waist lacked its litheness
The air would draw him toward itself.
The air itself would pull him in
