And a narcissus embraces the breeze;
A narcissus embracing the breeze
It stays awake by nature, yet suffers no insomnia.
Staying up by nature, not kept awake

As though it, with its stature upright,
As if it and the slender waists were equal
And its perfume lingering in its eye-corners,
And from its fragrance in the watering places, there was scent

Were eyelids of pearl upon the tips of reeds,
Eyelids of pearls upon meadow reed stems
Dripping musk, though they bear no sweat.
Exuding musk without a trace of sweat
