صَفوحٌturning from side to side بِخَدَّيهاwith her two cheeks وَقَدand already طالَhas lasted long جَريُهاher running
صَفوحٌ بِخَدَّيها وَقَد طالَ جَريُها
كَماjust as قَلَّبَturned over الكَفَّthe palm الأَلَدُّthe obstinate المُجادِلُthe disputant
كَما قَلَّبَ الكَفَّ الأَلَدُّ المُجادِلُ
She turns her cheeks from side to side, her running having lasted long,
Roses on her cheeks, though long in growing
As the obstinate disputant turns his palm.
As palms overturned by one who's falsely pleading
