رَزِيَّةُ فَتْحِ الدِّينِ سُدَّ بها الفََضَا

رَزِيَّةُ فَتْحِ الدِّينِ سُدَّ بها الفََضَا

عَلَينا وَمَاتَتْ حِينَ ماتَ الفَضائِلُ

عَلَينا وَمَاتَتْ حِينَ ماتَ الفَضائِلُ

With the loss of Fath al-Din, the open expanse was shut

The elegy of Fath al-Din closed the horizons upon us

upon us, and the virtues died when he died.

And died when virtues died

وَقَد قِيلَ سَعْدُ الدّينِ وَافَقَ مَوتَهُ

وَقَد قِيلَ سَعْدُ الدّينِ وَافَقَ مَوتَهُ

فَقلْتُ وَسَعْدٌ كُلُّها والقَبائِلُ

فَقلْتُ وَسَعْدٌ كُلُّها والقَبائِلُ

And it was said: “Sa'd al-Din died at the same time as he did.”

It was said Sa'd al-Din died at the same time

So I said: “And all of Sa'd, and the tribes as well.”

I said, and Sa'd - all of it - and the tribes
