جَاءَني القَمْحُ تِلْوُهُ ثَمَنُ اللَّحْ

جَاءَني القَمْحُ تِلْوُهُ ثَمَنُ اللَّحْ

مِ فَعِيدِى لاشَكَّ عِيدٌ سَعِيدُ

مِ فَعِيدِى لاشَكَّ عِيدٌ سَعِيدُ

Wheat came to me, followed by the money for meat;

The wheat came to me, followed by the price of bread

so my feast day is, without doubt, a happy feast day.

My feast, no doubt, is a blessed feast

وَطَبخْتُ الكُسكاكَ مِن ذا وهذا

وَطَبخْتُ الكُسكاكَ مِن ذا وهذا

فَأَنَا ثَابتٌ وَيَزِيدُ

فَأَنَا ثَابتٌ وَيَزِيدُ

And I cooked couscous from this and that;

And I cooked couscous with this and that

so I am both Thabit and Yazid.
