هِمِ من مُقَاساةِ الأَنَامِ

What do ill-omened dirhams care

What does the pearl care

for the suffering of humankind?

For people's appraisal?

وَلِخَوْفِها مِن ذا وَذا

وَلِخَوْفِها مِن ذا وَذا

كَ تَفِرُّ مِن أَيدِى الكِرامِ

كَ تَفِرُّ مِن أَيدِى الكِرامِ

And fearing this one and that,

Its fear of this and that

they flee from the hands of the generous.

Makes it flee from the noble's grasp.
