بِكُتْبِكَthrough your writings رَاجَprospered ليfor me أَمَليmy hope وَقَصْدِيand my purpose
بِكُتْبِكَ رَاجَ لي أَمَلي وَقَصْدِي
وَفيand in يَدِكَyour hand النَّجاحُsuccess لِكُلِّfor every رَاجِone who hopes
وَفي يَدِكَ النَّجاحُ لِكُلِّ رَاجِ
Through your writings, my hope and purpose have prospered.
Through your book my hopes and goals grew bright
And in your hand lies success for everyone who hopes.
Success in your hands for all who yearn and sigh
وَلولاand were it not for أَنتَyou لَمْnot يُرْفَعْbe raised مَنَارِيmy beacon
وَلولا أَنتَ لَمْ يُرْفَعْ مَنَارِي
وَلاnor عَرَفَknew الوَرَىhumankind قَدْرَworth السِّراجِal-Siraj (the lamp)
وَلا عَرَفَ الوَرَى قَدْرَ السِّراجِ
And were it not for you, my beacon would not have been raised,
Without you my banners would not rise
Nor would humankind have known the worth of al-Siraj.
Nor would the world know the lamp's worth high
