غَيَّرتْكَ الأَيَّامُ سُبْحَانَ مَن لا

غَيَّرتْكَ الأَيَّامُ سُبْحَانَ مَن لا

يَعْتَرِيهِ عَن حَالهِ التَّغييرُ

يَعْتَرِيهِ عَن حَالهِ التَّغييرُ

The days have changed you; glory be to Him who never

Time has changed you, glory to Him whom

undergoes any change in His state.

Change does not affect from His state

وَتطاوَلْتَ فَوقَ قَدْرِكَ والأَ

وَتطاوَلْتَ فَوقَ قَدْرِكَ والأَ

قْدارُ تَجْرِي والدَّائراتُ تَدُورُ

قْدارُ تَجْرِي والدَّائراتُ تَدُورُ

And you have overreached your station, while the

And you have become arrogant beyond your status

fates run their course and the turns of fortune revolve.

While the fates flow and the cycles spin

وَتَخازَرْتَ لي بِمُؤَخِرِ عَيْنٍ

وَتَخازَرْتَ لي بِمُؤَخِرِ عَيْنٍ

لكَ واللّهُ نَاقِدٌ وَنَصِيرُ

لكَ واللّهُ نَاقِدٌ وَنَصِيرُ

And you looked askance at me with the outer corner of an eye

And you winked at me belatedly

of yours, while God is a discerning judge and helper.

While Allah is the judge and the helper

وَتَصَامَمْتَ عَن سُؤالٍ وَقَد أُ

وَتَصَامَمْتَ عَن سُؤالٍ وَقَد أُ

مِّلَ في القَبْرِ مُنْكَرٌ وَنَكِيرُ

مِّلَ في القَبْرِ مُنْكَرٌ وَنَكِيرُ

And you feigned deafness to a request, though

And you turned away from asking while

Munkar and Nakir are already awaited in the grave.

Munkar and Nakir have despaired in the grave

يَنصُفُ الدّهْرُ منكَ إنْ غَرَّكَ الدَّه

يَنصُفُ الدّهْرُ منكَ إنْ غَرَّكَ الدَّه

رُ وأَغراكَ والحَياةُ غُرورُ

رُ وأَغراكَ والحَياةُ غُرورُ

Time will exact redress from you if time has deceived you

Time will take revenge on you if it deceived you

and enticed you, and life is delusion.

And deluded you while life is delusion
