أشغالُ مَوْلانا الوَزِيرِ كَثيرَةٌ

أشغالُ مَوْلانا الوَزِيرِ كَثيرَةٌ

وَحَوَائجي أَبَداً إليهِ أَكثَرُ

وَحَوَائجي أَبَداً إليهِ أَكثَرُ

Our master the vizier has many duties,

Our master vizier's duties abound

And my requests to him are always more numerous.

My needs to him are ever profound

وَأقولُ قد أَضجرْتُهُ فيَقولُ لي

وَأقولُ قد أَضجرْتُهُ فيَقولُ لي

عَلْياؤُهُ رَبُّ العُلا لا يَضْجَرُ

عَلْياؤُهُ رَبُّ العُلا لا يَضْجَرُ

And I say, “I have vexed him”; then says to me

I say, I think I bore him, and he'll respond

His eminence: “The lord of lofty rank does not grow vexed.”

The Almighty is patient and won't despond
