ياواهِبَO giver الصُّلَحَاءِthe righteous منfrom دَعَواتهِhis invitations
ياواهِبَ الصُّلَحَاءِ من دَعَواتهِ
فَوقَmore than الذيwhat يَحوِيencompasses مُجَابُwhat is granted دُعائِهاtheir supplication
فَوقَ الذي يَحوِي مُجَابُ دُعائِها
O you whose invitations give the righteous
O granter of virtuous prayers when they call upon You
More than their answered prayers can bring,
Above all contained in Your responding to their prayers
سَالَتْthey asked لكَfor you الرَّحمنَthe All-Merciful فيin جُنْحِthe dark cover الدُّجَىthe night
سَالَتْ لكَ الرَّحمنَ في جُنْحِ الدُّجَى
تَحْتَbeneath المُسُوحِthe haircloth robes السُّودِthe black مِنfrom ظَلمائِهاits darkness
تَحْتَ المُسُوحِ السُّودِ مِن ظَلمائِها
They asked the All-Merciful for you under cover of night,
She has asked of You, O Most Merciful, in the darkness of night
Beneath the black haircloth robes of its darkness.
Beneath black coverings in their gloom
