O my lord Badr al-Din, you began by granting me
My master Badr al-Din, you began me
a favor that has earned you my thanks;
With grace that made you deserving of my thanks,
ولكنَّهُbut it يَحتاجُneeds مِنكَfrom you تَتمَّةًcompletion
ولكنَّهُ يَحتاجُ مِنكَ تَتمَّةً
وَمَنْand who هُوَhe أَولَىmore deserving بالتَّمامِof fullness مَنthan البْدرِthe full moon
وَمَنْ هُوَ أَولَى بالتَّمامِ مَن البْدرِ
but it needs completion from you—
Yet this requires your completion.
and who is more deserving of fullness than the full moon?
For who is more deserving of perfection than the full moon?
