ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ قَطعْتَ لِطولِها

ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ قَطعْتَ لِطولِها

ثَلاثَ شَدَيداتٍ مِن السَّنَواتِ

ثَلاثَ شَدَيداتٍ مِن السَّنَواتِ

In three days, so long they were, you passed through

Three days of longing seem as long

Three harsh years.

As three hard years of separation's throng

حَجَبْنَ مُحَيَّا الصَّاحِبِ ابنِ مُحمّدٍ

حَجَبْنَ مُحَيَّا الصَّاحِبِ ابنِ مُحمّدٍ

لِيجمَعَ بَيْنَ الحُسْنِ والحَسَناتِ

لِيجمَعَ بَيْنَ الحُسْنِ والحَسَناتِ

They veiled the face of al-Sahib ibn Muhammad,

That hid the lovely face of my dear friend

So that he might unite beauty and good deeds.
