بِتُّI spent the night أشكُوI complain سُقْمَillness جِسمِىmy body
بِتُّ أشكُو سُقْمَ جِسمِى
لِسَقيمِto one ailing in المُقلتَيْنِboth eyes
لِسَقيمِ المُقلتَيْنِ
I spent the night complaining of my body's illness
I complain of my body's sickness
To one with ailing eyes.
To one sick at heart
قَالَhe said ليto me يَكفِيكَis enough for you أَنْthat
قَالَ لي يَكفِيكَ أَنْ
أَصبَحتَyou have become عِندِيto me مِثلَlike عَينيmy eye
أَصبَحتَ عِندِي مِثلَ عَيني
He said to me, “It is enough for you that
He said to me, it's enough for you that
You have become, to me, like my eye.”
You have become to me like my own eyes
