أَصْبْحتُ رِجْساً لِلْئَامِ مِن الوَرَى

أَصْبْحتُ رِجْساً لِلْئَامِ مِن الوَرَى

وَلِظالمٍ يَبغي عَلَيَّ وَمُعْتَدِ

وَلِظالمٍ يَبغي عَلَيَّ وَمُعْتَدِ

I have become an abomination to the base among humankind,

I have become an abomination to the vile among mankind

and to an oppressor who wrongs me, and an aggressor.

And to the oppressor who aggresses against me, transgressing.

وَأَظُنُّهمْ لَمْ يَسْمعُوا بِمَدائحٍ

وَأَظُنُّهمْ لَمْ يَسْمعُوا بِمَدائحٍ

خلّدتها في أَحمدَ بنِ مُحمَّدِ

خلّدتها في أَحمدَ بنِ مُحمَّدِ

And I think they have not heard of the poems of praise

And I reckon they have not heard the praises

that I immortalized in praise of Ahmad ibn Muhammad.
