كَمْhow much يُرِيدُhe wants الخَبَّازُthe baker يَرْفُعُto raise رِطْليmy pound
كَمْ يُرِيدُ الخَبَّازُ يَرْفُعُ رِطْلي
وأُرَجِّيand I hope بالنَّصْبِby trickery مَشْيَthe progress of أُمورِيmy affairs
وأُرَجِّي بالنَّصْبِ مَشْيَ أُمورِي
How much does the baker want to raise the price of my pound of bread?
How much the baker wants to raise my pound
And I hope, by trickery, to keep my affairs moving.
And I hope with fortune the affairs of mine
وَإلىand until كَمْhow long شِرائيmy buying بِالجَرِّon credit مِنهُfrom him
وَإلى كَمْ شِرائي بِالجَرِّ مِنهُ
وانصِرافيand my departure بِخاطِرٍwith a heart مَكْسورِbroken
وانصِرافي بِخاطِرٍ مَكْسورِ
And how long must I buy from him on credit,
And to how much my shopping with it being pulled from him
And leave with a broken heart?
And my departure with a broken heart
