أَعِنّيhelp me بِرَأْيٍwith counsel صَائباتٍstriking true سِهَامُهُits arrows
أَعِنّي بِرَأْيٍ صَائباتٍ سِهَامُهُ
إذاwhen أَخطأَmisses الأَغراضَthe targets كُلُّevery تَفوُّقِnocking of an arrow
إذا أَخطأَ الأَغراضَ كُلُّ تَفوُّقِ
Help me with counsel whose arrows strike true,
when every shot misses the targets.
فَماfor ... not عَدِمَlacked التَّفوِيقَthe nocking of arrows مَنwhoever كانَwas عَوْنُهُhis aid
فَما عَدِمَ التَّفوِيقَ مَن كانَ عَوْنُهُ
علىagainst نَائباتِcalamities of الدَّهْرِtime رَأْيcounsel of مُوفَّقِone guided aright
على نَائباتِ الدَّهْرِ رَأْي مُوفَّقِ
For none lacks the means to shoot whose aid
against time’s calamities is the counsel of one guided aright.
