He calls the guests with tongues of his fire.
He invites guests with tongues of fire
Through it, at evening, the generous man's call is answered.
The generous becomes answered in his prayers

Its banners erase the blackness of night,
Banners for it erase the night’s darkness

Redness moves ahead of every banner

Yemen and Qais rally to it a banner
Red, issuing from a white hand.

So with what goblet do we rise to its heights?
How far Sirius is from the poets!
How far are the Pleiades from the poets!
