أَهْدَيْتَyou gave as a gift ليto me عِنَباًgrapes سُرَّwas delighted الفؤَادُthe heart بهِby it
كأَنَّهُas though it were إبنةٌa daughter إذْwhen زانَهاadorned her القِدَمُage
You gave me grapes that delighted the heart,
As though they were a daughter whom age had adorned.
وَغيرُand not بِدْعٍa novelty إذاif أهدَيْتَهُyou gave it as a gift كَرَماًout of generosity
يَوماًone day وَدارُكَand your house فيهاin it الكَرْمthe grapevines والكَرَمُand generosity
And it is no wonder if you offer them generously
One day, for your house holds both vines and generosity.
