نَحْنُwe نَفدِيكَwe ransom you مِنfrom السُّوْءِharm فَعِشْso live
نَحْنُ نَفدِيكَ مِن السُّوْءِ فَعِشْ
تَصْحبُyou accompany الصِّيحَةَthe cry العُمْرَthe lifetime الفَسِيحَاthe long
تَصْحبُ الصِّيحَةَ العُمْرَ الفَسِيحَا
We ransom you from harm, so live,
Keeping company with the cry throughout a long life.
وَإنْand if اسْتَقْللْتَyou deem too little أَنْto تُفْدَىbe ransomed بِنَاwith us
وَإنْ اسْتَقْللْتَ أَنْ تُفْدَى بِنَا
فَبِكَبشٍfor with a ram قَدْindeed فَدَىransomed اللَّهُGod الذَّبِيحَاthe sacrificial victim
فَبِكَبشٍ قَدْ فَدَى اللَّهُ الذَّبِيحَا
And if you deem us too little a ransom,
God has indeed ransomed the sacrificial victim with a ram.
