وفيand in الروضةthe garden الغَنَّاءِlush أَصبحتُI began the morning مُثنياًoffering praise
عَليكَof you وأَنفاسُand the breaths الرِّياضِof the gardens رَسِيلُa companion
And in the lush garden I began the morning offering praise
of you, with the gardens’ breaths as my companions.
وَأَمسيْتُand I entered the evening أَدعُوI pray واثقاًconfident بإجابتيof my prayer being answered
لأَنيَّbecause I أَدْعُوI pray والنَّسِيمُand the breeze قَبُولُan east wind (a pun on acceptance)
And at evening I prayed, confident of being answered,
For I pray, and the breeze is an east wind—“acceptance.”
