مَازِلْتُI have remained رَطْبَmoist لِسَانٍof tongue
مَازِلْتُ رَطْبَ لِسَانٍ
بِشُكْرِwith thanks to أَهْلِthe people of الزَّمانِthe age
بِشُكْرِ أَهْلِ الزَّمانِ
My tongue has stayed moist
with thanks to the people of this age.
وَلِلسِّراجِand for al-Siraj (the lamp) بَقَاءٌcontinuance
وَلِلسِّراجِ بَقَاءٌ
مَادامَas long as رَطْبَmoist اللِّسانِthe tongue
مَادامَ رَطْبَ اللِّسانِ
And al-Siraj—the lamp—lives on
as long as his tongue stays moist.
