Siraj has come to your spacious gate,
With longing’s fiercest flame in his heart,
مُتَّبِعاًfollowing مَنْone who قَالَsaid مِنfrom قَبْلِهِbefore him
مُتَّبِعاً مَنْ قَالَ مِن قَبْلِهِ
وإِنَّماand indeed اللَّيْلُthe night نُهارُthe day of الأَديبْthe man of letters
وإِنَّما اللَّيْلُ نُهارُ الأَديبْ
Following one who said before him:
“And night is but the man of letters’ day.”
