لِلّهِfor God (expressing admiration) مِنwhat (exclamatory) أَمْلَحينِtwo charming ones مُذْsince وَصَلاthey both arrived
لِلّهِ مِن أَمْلَحينِ مُذْ وَصَلا
وَصَلْتُI joined حَبليmy rope بِحْبلِto the rope of أغْراضِيmy desires
وَصَلْتُ حَبلي بِحْبلِ أغْراضِي
By God, what a charming pair! Since they arrived,
Praise be to God for two dear friends, mine
I have joined my rope to the rope of my desires.
Since I tied my rope to the rope of my wants;
فَلَوْso if نُمِىwere reported لِلجَزَّارِto al-Jazzār أَمْرُهُماtheir affair
فَلَوْ نُمِى لِلجَزَّارِ أَمْرُهُما
صِرْناwe would end up لِواليbefore the governor of البِلادِthe land والقاضِيand the judge
صِرْنا لِوالي البِلادِ والقاضِي
So if their affair were reported to al-Jazzār,
And if their butcher's role did thrive,
we would end up before the governor of the land and the judge.
We would need the ruler and the judge to survive.
