نُجلُّكَwe honor you القَابَلthe one receptive لِلمَدْحِto praise
نُجلُّكَ القَابَل لِلمَدْحِ
يُبَشِّرُgives glad tidings to القَائِلَthe speaker بِالنُّجْحِof success
يُبَشِّرُ القَائِلَ بِالنُّجْحِ
We honor you; the one receptive to praise
gives the speaker glad tidings of success.
وَرَأْسُand the principal of مَاليmy wealth حُسْنُgoodness of ظنيmy opinion وَلاand no
وَرَأْسُ مَالي حُسْنُ ظني وَلا
بُدَّescape لِرَأْسِfor the principal of المَالِthe wealth مِنfrom رِبْحِprofit
بُدَّ لِرَأْسِ المَالِ مِن رِبْحِ
And my capital is my good opinion, and
capital must yield a profit.
