My lord Fatḥ al-Dīn, this is a servant’s plea—
O my lord Fath al-Din, [hear] a servant’s plea—
he deems your lofty station too exalted for praise.
one who sees your lofty rank as beyond praise.
لَهُhe has بُلْغَةٌenough to subsist on فيin الرِزْقِlivelihood أُغْلِقَwas closed بَابُّهاits door

He has but a meager livelihood, whose door has been shut,
He has a modest livelihood, whose door has been shut,
so he made for the Gate of Fatḥ, seeking an opening.
so he headed to Fath’s door, seeking an opening.
