وَرَعَيْتَ هذا الجيشَ مِنكَ بِناظِرٍ

وَرَعَيْتَ هذا الجيشَ مِنكَ بِناظِرٍ

مَا كادَ يُهْمَلُ رَعْيُهُ بِمَنامِ

مَا كادَ يُهْمَلُ رَعْيُهُ بِمَنامِ

And you watched over this army with an eye of yours,

You have shepherded this army with your watchful eye

whose vigilance was scarcely ever neglected for sleep.

Its care has hardly been neglected in your sleep

وَرَدَدْتَ لِلأَقلامِ أَمْرَ سُيُوفهِ

وَرَدَدْتَ لِلأَقلامِ أَمْرَ سُيُوفهِ

فَأَقرَّتِ الأَسيافُ لِلأَقلامِ

فَأَقرَّتِ الأَسيافُ لِلأَقلامِ

And you restored to the pens command over its swords,

And you have brought swords under the command of pens

so the swords yielded to the pens.

So swords submit themselves to pens
