ما أَخطَأَتْ شَبَهاً في اللَّوْنِ واللِّينِ
And many a dusky maiden, her stature like a dusky spear’s,
Many a dark-skinned woman, her figure like the purest ebony,
Resembles it perfectly in color and suppleness.
Has not erred in her color or softness.

Her beauty has indeed captivated my mind; and I have a liver
Her beauty has captivated my mind and pierced my liver.
Whose breaker I shield from it with Yā-Sīn.
I seek refuge with her Creator from her with jasmine flowers.
