    An emir whose countenance has so often

    Appeared as a moon beneath the longest night.

    He thrusts with judgment before the spearpoint,

    And he strikes with resolve before the sword.

    حُشِيَ البَرْقُ مِن خَلفِها في ضَرامِ

    And he leads them, lean steeds like the winds;

    Behind them, lightning was packed into a blaze.

    Resolve makes them fly without whips,

    And a stern command restrains them without a bridle.

    And we ascribe the refinement of their training

    To the refinement of their noble horsemen.
