يَا عُمَرَ الخَيْرِ أَعِني فَقَدْ

يَا عُمَرَ الخَيْرِ أَعِني فَقَدْ

هَنَّأتُ بِالشِّعْرِ وَعَزَّيْتُ

هَنَّأتُ بِالشِّعْرِ وَعَزَّيْتُ

O Umar the good, help me, for I have

offered congratulations in verse and condolences.

وَارْحَمْ سِرَاجاً قَد خَلا فَهْوَ لا

وَارْحَمْ سِرَاجاً قَد خَلا فَهْوَ لا

فَتِيلةٌ فيها وَلا زَيْتُ

فَتِيلةٌ فيها وَلا زَيْتُ

And have mercy on Siraj, now empty, for he has no

wick within him, nor oil.
