A star fell from the sky of glory to the earth;
A star has fallen from the sky of glory to the earth
So it is fitting that lofty glory weep for him and lament.
The heights of greatness weep for him and lament

Perhaps he thought that humility was a virtue
Seeing that humility is a trait
By which his father had risen above al-Simak;
With which he excelled above the highest summits
فَأَمَّso he sought الثَّرَىthe earth عَنfrom قَدْرِهِhis station مُتنزِّلاًdescending

بِغِرَّةِ طِفْلٍ لَمْ يَرُضْهُ التَّدرُّبُ
So he sought the earth, descending from his station,
So he shed his grandeur to become one with the soil
With the naivety of a child whom experience had not schooled.
With the innocence of a child not yet versed in the ways of life
