    Our lord the minister is congratulated on a robe of honor,

    in which he shines like the full moon amid dark nights,

    فكانَا علَى الإسْلامِ خَيْرَ سِيَاجِ

    and on a union whose necklace was strung with Taj al-Din;

    thus the two became Islam's finest bulwark.

    And today my eye has seen no robe like it,

    delighting a loyal friend or distressing a dissembler.

    And when it saw the rank of the ministry beneath him,

    it came to him as kings are presented with a crown.
