My blood is on the cheeks—is there an avenger for me?

O men, to my aid! Layla's encampment is inhabited.

And in their land the brown spears bend,

Piercing keenly, and the edges of the broad swords sever.

And whenever you see a gazelle grazing there,

Then its victim in love is a lion in his lair.

And beyond my tears for the dwellings lies my blood, and I have no

Fear; the ruins have reserves of it.
