تُعامِلُنيyou treat me بِغَيرِwithout وَفاءِfulfillment of وَعدٍa promise
تُعامِلُني بِغَيرِ وَفاءِ وَعدٍ
وَقَولٍand a word بِئسَhow wretched أَفعالُthe deeds of الصَديقِthe friend
وَقَولٍ بِئسَ أَفعالُ الصَديقِ
You treat me without keeping a promise
You treat me with no loyalty or promise kept
Or your word—how wretched are a friend's deeds!
How awful are the deeds of a friend
وَتَطلُبُand you seek بِالرِياءِthrough hypocrisy الفَوزَsuccess جَهلاًin ignorance
وَتَطلُبُ بِالرِياءِ الفَوزَ جَهلاً
لَقَدindeed أَوفَيتَyou have come مِنfrom بَلَدٍa land سَحيقِfar-off
لَقَد أَوفَيتَ مِن بَلَدٍ سَحيقِ
And you ignorantly seek success through hypocrisy.
You foolishly seek glory with hypocrisy
Indeed, you have come from a far-off land.
Indeed you have fulfilled from a far off land
وَتَحويand you gain وَدَّthe love of غانِيَةٍa beautiful woman بِعَسفٍby force
وَتَحوي وَدَّ غانِيَةٍ بِعَسفٍ
أَلاwhy not حاوَلتَyou sought غَيرَother than مَدىthe end of الطَريقِthe road
أَلا حاوَلتَ غَيرَ مَدى الطَريقِ
And you gain a beautiful woman's love by force.
And you contain violent love for a singer
Why did you not seek something other than the road's end?
Why have you not tried another path
