أَعَندَis there with اللَهِGod لِلبَرقِfor the lightning اليَمانيYemeni
أَعَندَ اللَهِ لِلبَرقِ اليَماني
يُضيءُilluminates حَبِيَّa dense cloudbank ذيpossessing سَقطَينِtwo trailing fringes دانيnearby
يُضيءُ حَبِيَّ ذي سَقطَينِ داني
Is there with God a reward for the Yemeni lightning,
Does the Yemeni lightning have, with Allah
illuminating a nearby cloudbank with two trailing fringes?
To illuminate the settlement of my beloved, submissive one
تَناهىreached fullness المُزنُthe rain clouds وَاِستَرخَتand slackened عُراهُtheir bonds
تَناهى المُزنُ وَاِستَرخَت عُراهُ
بِبُرقَةِat the stony tract of ماسِلٍMāsil ذاتِhaving الأَفانِthe afan plants
بِبُرقَةِ ماسِلٍ ذاتِ الأَفانِ
The rain clouds reached their fullness, and their bonds slackened
The evening came to end, and the virgin girls rested,
