وَنَحنُand we تَرَكناleft بِالفَعالِيِّin al-Faʿālī طَعنَةًa spear wound
وَنَحنُ تَرَكنا بِالفَعالِيِّ طَعنَةً
لَهاit has عانِدٌa persistent flow of blood فَوقَabove الذِراعَينِthe two forearms مُسبِلُstreaming down
لَها عانِدٌ فَوقَ الذِراعَينِ مُسبِلُ
And we left in al-Faʿālī a spear wound,
Through deeds we left a stab
From which blood gushes above both forearms, streaming down.
With an obstinate foe over the two forearms letting down
