Dhu Ruʿayn and Saksak shall not leave you,
Let not the gleam of roving eyes tempt thee,
nor, from Sakun, the house of Saʿd son of ʿAmir,
The peace of Sa'd's abode shall comfort thee.

Clan Kalaa's vengeance-seeking band forbear,
when the crouching one's leap becomes possible for them.
When fails thee not the sword-stroke swift and free.

Nor will Yafiʿ lower its gaze, nor will Tarkhum,
No truce for Ja'fi's threats disdain, nor parley
and from Dhu Nuwas, every bright-browed man seething with anger.
With Nawas' tribe, when charged with enmity.
