أَلاAh! مَنwho مُبلِغُconveying word الحَيَّينِthe two clans عَنّيfrom me
بِأَنَّthat القَومَthe people قَدalready قَتَلواthey have killed أَبِيّاan unyielding man
Ah, who will carry word from me to the two clans
O you who will inform the living about me
that the people have killed an unyielding man?
That the people killed my father unjustly
فَإِنso if لَمdo not تَثأَرواtake revenge ليfor me مِنagainst عِكَبٍّʿIkabb
فَلاthen may not رُوّيتُمُyou be given drink أَبَداًever صَدِيّاthirsty
So if you do not avenge me against ʿIkabb,
If you do not avenge me against Ikab
then may you never be given drink when thirsty.
You will never be refreshed with pure water
يُطَوِّفُtakes around بيwith me عِكَبٌّʿIkabb فيamong مَعَدٍّMaʿadd

ʿIkabb takes me around among Maʿadd
Ikab circles around me in Ma'add
and stabs my nape with the short spear.
And stabs me in the back of my neck with his spear
