لَبِسْتُI donned الْآنَnow قُبَّعَةًa hat بَعِيدًاfar away
عَنِfrom الْأَوْطَانِthe homelands، مُعْتَادَaccustomed to الشُّجُونِsorrows
I have now donned a hat, far away
Now I wear a hat away from homelands, accustomed to sorrows
From my homeland, accustomed to sorrows.
If it has changed my appearance, when I take off the turban, you will recognize me
فَإِنْand if هِيَit غَيَّرَتْhas changed شَكْلِيmy appearance فَإِنِّيthen indeed I
«مَتَىwhenever أَضَعِI put on الْعِمَامَةَthe turban تَعْرِفُونِيyou recognize me»
And if it has changed my appearance, then as for me:
“Whenever I put on the turban, you will recognize me.”
