حججت على أم الفرزدق حجة

فبت أواري ظهر جعثن أدبرا

فبت أواري ظهر جعثن أدبرا

I made a pilgrimage on al-Farazdaq’s mother,

I argued with Umm Al-Farazdaq with reason

so I spent the night concealing Jaʿthan’s galled back.

So I spent the night covering the back of a leaving camel
