And what might I count of his special distinctions?

And that is something no counting can encompass.

And how can one praise, when God—exalted is His majesty—

Has praised His servant? Can there be praise beyond that?

And every perfection is beneath the rank of his glory,

And every gift is a stream from his overflowing bounty.

His is the highest station, through whose honor refuge is sought,

And from its quarter one seeks gifts and aid.

He attained it and was made a king by the Sovereign,

And the elect of God's messengers, one and all, are his host.

In my affairs I sought refuge in him and gained what I desire.

And from his overflowing bounty, restoration and good fortune have enfolded me.

My dwelling is with him, and seeking light through his guidance

Is my path; my ardor in loving him is earnest.

Upon him be blessings, whose invocation has no end,

And the purest peace, which no limit can encompass,

And upon his family and companions, noble and honored,

Whose preeminence is established and whose glory is manifest,

For all time, as long as the breeze blows through a garden

Where the bān trees sway and the roses smile,

And as long as a dove coos above the arāk trees,

And love's pangs are stirred and ardor grows.
