فكأنه في الماء صاحبُ مذهبٍ

فكأنه في الماء صاحبُ مذهبٍ

أغراه وِسواسٌ بأن لم يطهُرِ

أغراه وِسواسٌ بأن لم يطهُرِ

So, in the water, he is like a follower of a school of thought,

As if in water, a companion of doctrine

Whom obsessive doubt has led to believe that he has not become pure.

Tempted by obsession that he is not purified
